Maven Honors the Fallen Heroes

While you pack up the car to get away for the long weekend, remember to take a moment to reflect on why it is you do not have to show up to work on Monday. Initially established as a practice three years after the Civil War, in 1971 the United States Congress formally declared the last Monday in May a national holiday to honor the fallen heroes who died while serving in the Armed Forces.

This weekend, Maven honors and remembers family, friends, ancestors and fellow citizens who made the ultimate sacrifice for this nation. We also thank the men and women, including a large group from the Maven community, who currently serve in the military and the veterans who served in the past. The bravery of these individuals is inspiring and we could not be more appreciative of their daily sacrifices.

As you enjoy your weekend among family and friends, we hope you will join Maven in honoring the fallen heroes, those who served and those currently serving their country.
