“Labor Day pays tribute to the contributions and achievements of American workers.” This Labor Day, we here at Maven not only salute American workers, but reflect upon the changing nature of “labor” today – and our role in the evolution of the meaning of “work”.

A recent New York Times article, which featured Maven and quoted our CEO, Wyatt Nordstrom, discussed the changing nature of labor and the rise of project-based work.  Maven excels at providing the opportunity for individuals to micro-consult in precisely these sorts of situations.  The forthcoming Open Innovation conference, sponsored by Maven, promises to be a forum for entrepreneurs, laborers (workers) and OI professionals to elaborate on what they are working on – and to discuss the opportunities that lie in the future.

So, from all of us here at Maven, enjoy your holiday.  Be careful with the grill!  And remember, it’s not what you do, but how you do it.  Maven is excited to be a part of this evolution of the word “labor”…  and we hope you are too.
