Everybody knows something! And Maven’s Global Knowledge Marketplace is the leading platform for the ethical exchange of professional knowledge, perspective and opinion. Who should be a Maven user? We believe that everyone should be and welcome all types of professionals to join and participate.
However, certain professionals are subject to special rules put in place by trade associations or other important regulatory organizations. These professionals include lawyers, doctors, accountants, investment professionals, and individuals involved in pharmaceutical clinical trials.
People in these professions are welcome on Maven and in fact include some of our happiest users. However, if you are one of these users we remind you to keep your special responsibilities to your profession in mind.
If you are an investment professional, please do not comment on securities prices or attempt to influence another user’s decision to buy or sell publicly-traded securities over Maven, even if you are a licensed to do so. Maven should not be used to solicit or provide advice on the value of securities.
If you are an attorney, physician or accountant, please do not provide legal, medical or accounting advice during your engagements on the Maven platform. Maven engagements are intended to be solely informational in nature and do not constitute professional advice.
If you have been involved in a pharmaceutical clinical trial, you are subject to special confidentiality obligations with respect to the results of those trial(s). Specifically, you may not under any circumstances discuss current trials with which you are involved. Moreover, you should not discuss confidential details of past trials that have not been publicly announced. If you have any doubt as to whether or not information you know about a clinical trial is public, you should not discuss it via Maven.
Depending on your profession, you may be subject to other special licensing, regulations, restrictions, or ethical standards regarding the provision of professional advice. You are reminded to respect your profession’s ethical and professional standards at all times while participating in Maven.
At Maven we require our participants to abide by the terms of their obligations to others (including their employers and their professional organizations) while participating in Maven. Doing so will continue to keep Maven a safe, controlled platform for the ethical exchange of professional knowledge.
