Satellite Mission Operations Employment Opportunity
Description:
We are seeking an Operator for the SwRI CYGNSS Mission Operations Center. As a member of the Cyclone Global Navigation Satellite System (CYGNSS) Mission Operations Center (MOC) team, you will help plan spacecraft activities, review orbital data, respond to spacecraft anomalies, and monitor automated MOC processes. CYGNSS is a constellation of 8 small satellites that studies the relationship between ocean surface properties, moist atmospheric thermodynamics, radiation, and convective dynamics to determine how tropical cyclones form and whether or not they will strengthen.
In this role, your efforts will include:
Support operations for the CYGNSS Mission Operations Center including mission planning, data processing, orbital analysis, and anomaly resolution
Work with the Science Team and Engineering Team to plan spacecraft activities
Work with small teams to develop, test, and deploy applications to support operations
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Astronomy, Computer Science, Applied Math, or related technical discipline
0-2 years: Academic or industry experience with spacecraft operations
0-2 years: Academic or industry experience with python, STK
Familiarity with Linux
Familiarity with requirements-based engineering
Excellent written and verbal communications with a high capacity to work in team-oriented and collaborative manner
Must be a self-motivated individual who can work independently and in a team environment
Must be a U.S. citizen or Permanent Resident
