I would like to learn more about the additive manufacturing process called directed energy deposition (DED). Specifically I would like to learn about the systems that use wire (not powder) as feed stock for DED, including laser, e-beam and electrical current (“Joule”), as well as wire arc/plasma. I am interested in understanding how various industries use DED, including which materials are used to build DED parts, typical part size, examples of applications, and potential for future growth.
