Last week we discussed how Maven is the gold standard for privacy in professional networking. As a follow-up, we thought it would be helpful to show you how profiles appear in searches conducted by approved Maven Clients. We’ll use the profile of our Co-Founder and COO, Anthony D’Alessandro, to illustrate. Let’s suppose that Anthony values his privacy and has opted not to display his name in search results. While we can’t search for Anthony by name, we do know that he has the keywords “knowledge marketplace” in his profile. When we search on this term, Anthony’s profile appears as follows in our search results:

As you can see, Anthony’s profile is anonymous and he is identified only by his Member Number (check out how low his Member Number is!). The first part of his Knowledge Summary is shown, as is his MavenScore. A few key points here:

If Anthony were to change his Privacy settings in Maven, we might be able to see more information about him in our search results, including his name and current employer. For example:

Note: You can see how your complete Member Profile is displayed to Clients by logging in and visiting the “View Profile” tab.
